Building Strong Schools, Strengthening Our Community
Proudly endorsed by the educators of WEAC Region 7 - Cudahy Education Association. Remember to Vote on Tuesday, April 1! Thank you for your support!
About Me
I am Justin Knash and am excited to run for the Cudahy School Board. I am a longtime Cudahy resident having attended Cudahy elementary and middle schools, graduated from Cudahy High School, and now my son is a third-generation student in the district. I am passionate about ensuring that every student has access to a great education. Whether they pursue college, job training, or jump straight into a career, our schools should equip them with the skills and resources they need to succeed.
I am actively involved in our schools and community, serving on district committees, volunteering with the PTO, and managing finances as treasurer for my son’s Cub Scout pack. With a background in business and technology, I bring critical thinking skills and financial expertise to ensure our district invests wisely—prioritizing students, supporting teachers, and expanding learning opportunities for all.
If elected, I will emphasize smart management of our school buildings, increase funding for special education, expand career and technical programs, and strengthen city-school partnerships. My goal is to create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where every student can thrive.
Together, we can make Cudahy schools even better—a place families want to be and a source of pride for our community. I look forward to collaborating with parents, teachers, and residents to help our schools grow and succeed.
My Vision
• Putting Students & Teachers First – Ensure budget decisions prioritize students and educators, directing resources where they make the greatest impact for both.
• Marketing the District – Enhance marketing efforts to highlight and elevate Cudahy schools and help keep families in the district.
• Transparency – I want to help continue the current administration's goal of increased transparency through simple things like making all school board meeting recordings available online for anyone to view.
• Expanding Career & Technical Education – Strengthen partnerships with industries and technical colleges to create more career pathways for students beyond a four-year degree.
• Right-Sizing School Buildings Thoughtfully – Support a well-planned approach to consolidating and optimizing school facilities, minimizing disruption while ensuring the best learning environments.
• Securing More Funding for Our Schools – Advocate for hiring a full-time grant writer and establishing an independent nonprofit committee to raise funds and support district initiatives.
• Strengthening City & School District Collaboration – Support joint marketing efforts and ensure the city and district work together to attract new families.
• Advocating for Increased Special Education Funding – Push for Wisconsin to raise its special education funding from 30% to at least 75% to better support students with diverse needs.
• Sharing Resources with Neighboring Districts – Partner with surrounding school districts to expand extracurricular activities and offer students access to a wider range of courses.
• Ensuring Safe & Inclusive Schools – Foster a welcoming, supportive, and secure environment for all students, regardless of background, identity, or ability.
• Advocating for Public Education – Champion policies and initiatives that strengthen Cudahy’s public schools and ensure long-term sustainability.
• Bringing Business & Technology Expertise to the School Board – Use my background in business and technology to make data-driven, fiscally responsible decisions that improve education outcomes.
